Broughton Gallery is in the hills of Upper Tweeddale in the Scottish Borders, roughly equidistant from Glasgow (40 miles) and Edinburgh (30 miles).

The gallery is situated on the northern edge of the village of Broughton. The dramatic A701 Edinburgh to Moffat road passes through the village, or an alternative route is via the nearby town of Biggar (6 miles) which is on the main A702 road between Edinburgh and Abington (Jct 13 A74(M), Glasgow and Carlisle).
