Stuart Gibbs studied Drawing and Painting at Glasgow School of Art, from where he graduated in 1989. Since then, he has been a practising artist and has exhibited in Britain and abroad. Stuart is based in Glasgow.

Stuart’s landscapes have an arresting sense of stillness.

‘‘Much of my painting centres on landscape subjects or uses elements from this as a source. I’m attracted to rock formations and organic structures. My style varies between semi-abstract and abstract, developing the shapes and colours with a variety of mark making techniques coupled with loose free flowing paintwork.’’

For inspiration, Stuart has travelled extensively in Europe, USA, Hawaii and Japan.
