Emily Little began painting as a teenager while living in West Yorkshire. In 1984, she began the study of Drawing and Painting at Edinburgh College of Art.

Working predominantly in watercolours, Emily uses collage in much of her work.

Although inspired by ‘‘places seen’’, Emily Little’s landscapes evolve in the studio and are part of a lengthy process with washes of colour and paper being built up rather like the strata which make up the earth. Emily has exhibited widely in Europe and was awarded the Prix du Conseil General de Versailles (124th Salon).
