Alexander Robb studied Drawing and Painting at Glasgow School of Art from 1968 to 1972. He lives and works in Dumfries and Galloway, South West Scotland. His work is realistic in style and his subjects include still life, landscape, portraiture and figure drawing. Alexander uses a variety of media ^ oil, gouache, pastel and watercolour. He places particular emphasis on strong tonal contrasts and rich colour following in the tradition of the Glasgow Boys and the Scottish Colourists. Alexander Robb is a regular exhibitor at the Royal Scottish Academy (RSA), the Royal Glasgow Institute (RGI) and Visual Arts Scotland (VAS) and he exhibits widely in commercial galleries throughout the UK. |
