Nancy Sutcliffe uses a variety of techniques to achieve the delicate designs on glass which have become her trademark. She uses a sand blaster for large opaque areas, a diamond point drill for carving and detail, and occasionally ceramic paint for high contrast. More recently she has begun to work on a larger scale using the drill as a drawing tool cutting deeply into the glass, or sketching with the lightest touch.

The natural world has been a huge influence on Nancy’s work, providing much of her subject matter. In her latest work she represents the human figure in her own unique way, as in Wimmin swimmin.
