Hannah McAndrew has a studio near Castle Douglas in Dumfries and Galloway. She throws her pots on a kick wheel and she decorates her work using the traditional techniques of slip trailing and sgraffito.

Hannah enjoys making functional pots, ‘‘pots with a purpose’’, pots which people can use and enjoy every day.

‘‘Although the tradition of slip-decorated tableware is an old one, I believe it still has a place in today’s home.’’

Hannah takes commissions for commemorative pots for special occasions.
