Bethan Lloyd Worthington graduated from Manchester Metropolitan in 2006. At New Designers that year, she was selected from around 3,000 graduates for the Contemporary Applied Arts Award. Since then, she has exhibited across the country, including at Origin: The London Craft Fair. ‘‘Her accomplished draughtsmanship and the totally convincing way she combines disparate images make her one of the most compelling of the younger generation.’’

James Beighton ^ Curator of Crafts, Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art. Crafts issue no. 200

Inspiration for Bethan’s work comes from a plethora of sources. Past themes have included Eastern European folk tales. Working in stages, Bethan layers decorative techniques such as inlay, underglaze painting, stencilling, lustre and transfer to create illustrated surfaces.
